After menopause, every woman faces various health and beauty issues. Notably, obesity during the premenopausal and postmenopausal stages is a common concern. What causes this?

Hormonal Changes – The Reason for Inability to Lose Belly Fat After Menopause
When a woman goes through menopause, her ovaries stop producing or releasing eggs. This major change leads to a series of other changes. Ovaries also produce hormones, meaning that a woman in menopause will have lower hormone levels.
However, when this happens, the adrenal glands are supposed to act as a backup system for the ovaries. The adrenal glands produce all the hormones that the ovaries once did. If the adrenal glands are healthy and stable when a woman enters menopause, she may experience fewer symptoms.
Another part of the body we need to focus on is the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is the body’s recovery system. It influences sleep and your ability to recover. Fat burning happens during the recovery phase. Training your parasympathetic nervous system can help lower cortisol, support sleep, and eliminate belly fat.
To strengthen the parasympathetic nervous system, it’s important to increase rest periods between workout sets and on training days. You must ensure you’re not overtraining and give your body the chance to fully recover and regenerate.
How to Lose Belly Fat After Menopause:
- Perform high-intensity exercises with longer rest periods
- Avoid overtraining
- Don’t exercise when you’re still sore
- Focus on getting more sleep
- Utilize chiropractic care, massage therapy, or physical therapy
- Consume omega-3 fatty acids
- Take DHEA
- Follow a low-carb diet combined with intermittent fasting
- Get enough magnesium, choline, vitamin B1, and vitamin D
- Try lemon balm, passionflower, or ashwagandha (an Indian ginseng)
