DON’T IGNORE These 10 Signs – You May Be VITAMIN C DEFICIENT!

Experts from the YouTube channel Bestie Health, which has nearly 5 million subscribers, highlight 10 signs of vitamin C deficiency that you should be aware of in order to make necessary changes and keep your body healthy.

  1. Rough skin
Rough skin is one of the first signs because vitamin C is responsible for collagen production. Without enough vitamin C, your skin will suffer.
  2. Joint pain
This is due to the fact that vitamin C plays a crucial role in strengthening our joints. More importantly, joints contain a lot of collagen, which vitamin C helps to produce.
  3. Extensive bruising
Without enough vitamin C, your skin’s collagen production slows down, making you prone to bruising. A small injury can result in significant scarring.
  4. Healing problems
It’s the collagen in your skin that helps your body heal. Additionally, your body’s metabolism plays a key role in providing the much-needed help. To heal wounds quickly, you need vitamin C in your body, known as ascorbic acid.
  5. Weakened bones
Many studies have shown that a lack of this nutrient in your diet is linked to bone fractures and osteoporosis.
  6. Fatigue may indicate a vitamin C deficiency
Vitamin C is also responsible for replenishing your energy. A severe lack of vitamin C may cause you to feel tired.
  7. Bad mood
What if you’re in a bad mood for no apparent reason? If that’s ever happened to you, it might be worth considering increasing your vitamin C intake.
  8. Sudden weight gain
It has been found that low vitamin C intake is associated with obesity.
  9. Changes in body hair
Vitamin C helps form the structure of hair. So, when your body isn’t getting enough of this nutrient, your hair tends to become curly or twisted.
  10. Reddish-brown hair follicles
Be aware that hair follicles contain small blood vessels that provide nutrients to that area. When these blood vessels aren’t getting enough vitamin C, they become weak and prone to breaking, which is why hair follicles turn reddish-brown.
